Sydney – things to do, places to see! (Part 3)

Have you ever wondered how the Blue Mountains in Sydney got their name? The Blue Mountains are so named because of the blue haze that surrounds them caused by the Eucalyptus oil mixing with the atmosphere.

The most famous attraction of the Blue Mountains are The Three Sisters which are over 3000 feet above sea level! The Australians have a very interesting legend about these Sisters, claiming that these used to be 3 beautiful young ladies who fell in love with 3 men from a different tribe. This caused a major tribal battle and these three sisters were turned into stone to protect them from any harm. However, the person in charge of turning them to stone died before he could reverse the spell and so they remain there till today in their magnificent rock formation as a reminder of this battle.

Keep checking this space to find out more about the Blue Mountains attractions!
