It’s end of September – three months left to the year end. Take a look at the goals you set earlier this year. You have either a) exceeded your gaols, b) just met the expectations or c) fallen below your desired expectations of what you wanted to accomplish.
Regardless of the position you are in, you CAN have the best three months of the year. And here’s a different strategy for achieving that: Say NO! “No” is not a dirty or negative word. Saying “No” allows you more time and energy to pursue your goals and focus on the things that really matter.
- What activities will you say “no” to? List all the activities that slow you down. If it doesn’t move you closer to your goal, then say no!
- What relationships will you not keep? Identify the top three energy-draining relationships that you will say “no” to for at least two months. You have to wisely choose with whom, where and how you spend your time.
- What customers will you not target? Start saying “no” to low-quality prospects. Stop wasting time calling back the same old customers who are not interested in giving you any more referrals or business.
- What money will you not spend? Put yourself on a fiscal diet as every dollar wasted takes you away from your financial goals.
- What food will you not eat? Reaching the next level of performance and productivity begins with how you manage your energy. Unhealthy eating habits, lack of exercise and negativity all contribute to energy loss.
- What excuses you will not give? Excuses can drain your time, production and money. Have a brutally honest conversation with yourself and determine the excuses or behaviors that you must do away with.
Use the veto power of “No” regularly and with conviction. It’s a powerful weapon that you can use to maximize your results in the final 90 days of this year.
